Sometimes, I still don’t understand why people constantly use the snooze button when they trying to get up in the morning.
It’s ineffective and using it will only make you more tired.
If you did not know already, every time you hit the snooze button, your body is putting itself back into a sleep cycle, putting you back into deeper stages of sleep.

However, if you are going to wake up again in just 5 minutes, you will find that you will find it harder to wake up the next time your alarm rings.
A complete sleep cycle lasts around an hour and a half, so when you go to bed at night, you will have had multiple sleep cycles by the time you wake up.
And yes, with this, you should ideally set your alarm with the sleep cycle increments in mind.
Perhaps consider sleeping for 6 hours, 7.5 hours, or 9 hours. This is also the reason behind why sometimes you wake up feeling a little fatigued in the morning is that you have woken up in the middle of a sleep cycle.
With that in mind, when you go to sleep again for 10 to 15 minutes after just waking up, you are setting yourself up for the same feeling of fatigue.
Really, taking a few more minutes of sleep will actually make you feel a lot sleepier than if you had just woken up the first time your alarm rang.
Instead, just wake up at the time when your alarm rings.
Perhaps lay in bed for another 2 or 3 minutes to get acclimated to waking up, but try not to go to sleep.
It would be even better to make sure you have no other alarms and you do not hit the snooze button.
This way, your brain and internal clock will be the ones waking you up, and you wake up a lot more naturally and feeling refreshed.
If it seems that you aren’t feeling great when you wake up from the first alarm, perhaps try readjusting the time your alarm goes off or the time you go to bed.
Just remember to stop hitting “snooze”, and you are already on your way to more productive mornings.
